An astronomer used to observe the stars at night.
One evening, he wandered through the suburbs. Engrossed with the skies, he fell accidentally into a deep well.
He lamented and bewailed his sores and bruises, and cried loudly for help. A passerby heard his cries and rushed over to the well. The astronomer explained what had happened.
The passerby learning what had happened said, "Sir, in striving to pry into what is in heaven, why do you not manage to see what is on earth?"
Moral
Do not just fix your gaze in one direction; always look for alternative points of view.
